James Thompson is the Senior Director of Healthcare Lending for Signature Bank, the senior credit officer for Signature Bank’s new Healthcare lending vertical. Jim brings 30+ years of senior housing and healthcare experience to his new position at Signature Bank. Prior to joining Signature, Jim was the Director of Senior Housing Investments at BOK Financial, focusing on new loan production and production support, personnel development, and strategic planning. In 2013, he joined Synovus Bank’s Seniors Housing and Healthcare Lending Group as a Senior Director. Prior to joining Synovus, he was Senior Vice President and Managing Director with Capmark Finance (formerly known as GMAC Commercial Mortgage), where he was responsible for co-managing a balance sheet portfolio of senior housing and skilled nursing loans of approximately $1.0 billion. Prior to joining Capmark in 1998, Mr. Thompson led the senior housing and long-term care efforts at Colonial Bank, managed the Bank’s Corporate Lending Department, and was a member of the Bank’s loan committee. Until recently, he served as the volunteer Chair of NIC’s Spring Conference. Prior to joining Signature Bank, he served as the Chair of the Board of Directors of a non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community located in Birmingham, Alabama, as well as being on the Board of a local provider of affordable housing and supportive services for the elderly. Mr. Thompson holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from Vanderbilt University.
