Balancing the ISNP Equation

PDPM is probably the only initialism that receives more attention than ISNP; a program created the same year Finding Nemo ruled the box office remains a fascinating proposition for many skilled nursing facilities.

The model is not right for every provider, but it holds tremendous financial potential for SNFs that effectively treat-in-place, control ancillary utilization and provide quality care.  It’s a “high-value” asset and gateway into the tantalizing world of population health management.  That’s the narrative you’ve likely heard many times before – but not this time.  This session explores the subtle, often overlooked impact ISNP participation has on specific provider finances and operations.

For all the potential benefits, most providers are not prepared for unexpected disruptions.  It’s 2020 – the SNF revenue-cycle is all connected.  A SNF’s CMI, therapy contract, “60-day” technical eligibility administration, PDPM strategy, Medicaid billing scrutiny, quality ratings and hospice utilization are just some of the variables that must be monitored and measured to ensure compliance and properly “Reimbursement Arbitrage” performance.

I’ve been heavily vested in the ISNP business since 2013 and we’ve achieved some remarkable successes, but have I got some stories to tell you…
