As an expert in the area of creating human connections through effective and efficient data and detail management, Fred Friedman launched his professional career as a community activist. He has designed, spearheaded, and managed a variety of community-based initiatives throughout the tri-state area, including a multi-phase affordable housing project in Ocean County, New Jersey, a full- service youth summer camp, and a highly innovative, technology-based matchmaking service; he also served as a member of the Board of Education in Lakewood, New Jersey. Following his success within the greater tri-state community, he founded SMF Healthcare, a long- and short-term care facility operations management company. Utilizing his networking and relationships in healthcare, Fred co-founded a modest title abstract company and built strong business relationships. In 2017, he was bought out by Riverside Abstract, one of the top 10 title agencies on the East Coast, which closes over $13,000,000,000 in transactions annually.
In his capacity as President of SMF, Fred has maintained a strong and steady focus on curated expansion. During his tenure, he built the company’s healthcare operations and property portfolio, which currently spans several states and regions in the U.S. SMF’s holdings include operational positions in New Jersey, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, Texas, and Ohio with a number of facilities already positioned and in the queue for HUD. Fred’s extraordinary ability to select viable purchase options while steering high-potential facilities toward greater profitability is a significant factor that has led to the success of SMF as a healthcare holding entity.
Fred is currently on the Board of NJHAND, an affordable housing organization located in Ocean County NJ, and holds a position on the Board of Governors for Beth Medrash Govoha, the largest Accredited Rabbinical College in the country.
